We're Baaack!

We're home from Chicago. Ah. It was a great trip and the boys were wonderful travelers! Here's a quick rundown of the week:

Tyler was baptized at St. Luke's Lutheran in Park Ridge. He was the shortest-term member in the history of the congregation because as soon as the service was over, we signed papers to have his membership transferred to Abiding Love in Austin. We did it that way so that Mark's grandparents could be a part of it. It worked out well since Tyler's godparents also live in the Chicago area (Mark's cousin Jessica and her husband Scott. You may remember them from this trip to Houston...) The reception was filled with great friends and family and an unbelievable spread of Polish food. Pierogi and blinzes and kapusta, oh my!

We stayed with Mark's brother Greg and his wife Erica in their beautiful home. Tyler came down with a cold right away but Danny managed to stay healthy the entire trip, which was great, because dziadzia (aka grandpa) had plenty planned for him. The whole gang went downtown on the train to the Shedd Aquarium. I stayed back to nurse Tyler back to health and catch up on Desperate Housewives....a rare treat. Then a trip to a real Chicago firehouse! Danny was so nervous that he had his hand shoved clear down his throat for most of the visit, as you'll see in the pictures. Then a trip to the Kohl Children's Museum in Glenview. And finally we had breakfast with the family's newest arrival Nico, the son of Robby and Ania (remember Uncle Ah-choo?) With plenty of dinners with loved ones and friends in between.

And if you want to feel like you were there with us, click here for more than enough pictures to do the job. Thank you to Mark's family for making the trip special. We love you!

It looks like you had a great time. Welcome home! I just wanted to say that in that last photo, the one with Danny in the Rock Star robe, OMG does he look like LuAnn! Those lips!

Awesome pictures! We had such a fun time visiting with you and the boys! We wish you lived closer so we could see you more often, but imagine how exhausting that would be? Family feasts every night... Miss you!
