This blog chronicles our daily adventures with our boys Danny and Tyler. Since all of our family and most of our friends live thousands of miles away, we thought it would be a great way for you to sneak a peek at how they're growing and changing every day.

Houston, the Eagle Has Landed
This past weekend we made our way southeast through Texas for Danny's first trip to Houston. My cousin Jessica and her husband Scott flew down to visit friends and they called to ask if we were busy. We're all glad they did because we had a blast seeing them! (Picture note: The baby Jessica is holding is Hayley, her best friends child. She was adorable!)
After a late morning snack, we jumped in the car and started to head down TX-71 to a small city called Bastrop. We made a pit stop at Maggie's on Main in the historic downtown area for an old fashioned Texas breakfast. LuAnn had a breakfeast taco the size of her head with wild blueberry pancakes. She shared with Danny, of course. I splurged on some biscuits and sausage gravy with scrambled eggs. I felt my arteries harden with every bite but once in a while on a weekend trip, it's well worth it.
With our bellies full and Danny ready for a nap, we headed back to TX-71 on our way to I-10 and into Houston. Danny slept for a short 45 minutes but seemed to enjoy the ride. Why wouldn't he? The road had plenty of trucks!
We spent some time visiting with Scott and Jessica before taking Danny to a park. Scott and Jess seemed to have a great time playing with Danny and his smile didn't leave his face until we decided it was time to go.
We stopped for a nice dinner at Papacitos and it was unfortunately time to head back home. A quick change into PJs (for Danny only, unfortunately), hugs all around and we were back on the road to Austin.
I'm really glad we got to see Jessica and Scott and Danny loved the change of scenery. We hope to see you guys again soon.

so you drove up and back down on the same day! Holly cow! Props to Danny for being such a trooper and to LuAnn for being able to stay in the car that long (and props to you for being in the car with a toddler and a pregnant woman for so long) hehe, It sounds like you all had a great time.
Ahh... we are here at your parent's house for dinner, we miss you guys! Happy Easter!
Love,
Jessica and Scott
