6-month stats

Since Danny turned 6 months right before the holidays, we just went to his check up this morning.

After a big growth spurt last time at 4 months, he's now only grown one more inch in height -- at 26 1/4. So he's now average on height -- in the 50th percentile. His weight, however, really jumped. He's 17lbs 9.6 oz. So he's leaning more toward the 75th percentile on that one. Which really surprises me because he still looks a little skinny to me. I guess that's just my mom instinct kicking in -- always wanting to fatten my baby up! His head remains on the petite side -- 43 cm, or below the 50th percentile.

He did well with the shots. A moment of panic...but by the time we got to the car, it was all smiles and giggles. We'll see what the night has in store for us. A bit of news I wasn't hoping for was that the doctor thinks I should continue feeding Danny 1-2 times a night and let him gradually sleep longer on his own (as long as he gets in a good 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep to start out with, which he usually does). In some ways, it IS easier to do that because once he eats, he goes right back to sleep. But I long for the nights when I get more than 3 hours of sleep at a time. I figure it's been well over a year since that's happened, being that when I was pregnant, I had to get up to go to the bathroom--or eat--or get rid of leg cramps--several times a night anyway. Oh, well! If that's all I have to complain about (and it is...), then we've got it pretty good!
