Tyler's Big Boy Bed

This past weekend, I convinced LuAnn we should let Tyler start sleeping in his big boy bed. Really, that means we took one crib side off and replaced it with the "toddler bar" you see in the pictures. Needless to say, Tyler is very happy and proud of himself to finally be able to get in and out of bed by himself.

LuAnn had her concerns. Danny started sleeping in his big boy bed a little after two and a half years old. I guess Tyler is making the switch about three months earlier. I'm okay with that; he's been learning and watching his big brother do it every night. I think LuAnn was more concerned about Tyler getting out of bed when he shouldn't or sneaking downstairs to our bedroom and doing his best impression of a blonde-haired, blue-eyed monster from Children of the Corn.

I'll admit, this was an easy decision for me because I don't generally get up with the boys. It's not that I don't want to, it's that it takes an earth-shaking act of Congress to wake me up.

I think it comes down to showing our sweet Tyler he has earned some points in the respect and trust department from Mom and Dad. Just look, even Danny loves the idea!
