Tyler is 4 months old!

Tyler,

You turned 4 months old yesterday. And what a month it's been. Not just because of the obvious trauma and drama we just went through, but because of all the milestones that you are crossing. Just in the past few days, you've started practicing your "mmaa's" and other heart melting sounds. You also love spending time in the Exersaucer, grabbing the toys and shaking the rattles quite deliberately. Same thing with your kick toy, which you can "kick on" whenever you feel like it.

When you were born, we determined that Danny will just have to be the only one in the family with dimbles. But lately: surprise, surprise! What's that I see showing up on your chubby little right cheek? How is it that Daddy and I produce kids with dimbles? I have no idea. But I love it. You're also famous for your sparkling blue eyes and your shy, flirty smile. Just like your brother, you never leave anyone hanging without returning a grin (especially with the ladies).

This next month is going to be amazing. Your first solid food. Your first Halloween. Your first plane trip (to Chicago in November). Your baptism. I'm quite sure you'll be rolling around like a pro, too. Let's just try not to jump into size 2T clothes already since you're already wearing your brother's 12 month pjs.

I love you more than anything. Daddy and Danny do, too. Thanks for hanging in there with us this month. And for re-teaching me to simply breathe and to savor each moment throughout the day that makes life -- and parenthood -- so very precious.

Love, Mommy
