Bedtime fun

First off, Danny would like to wish his cousin Emily a HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

We don't have any interesting pictures of Danny to share today -- but promise to take plenty this weekend when Mark finally has some extended time to spend at home. Last night, Mark and I tried a little experiment: we tried putting Danny to bed wearing real pajamas instead of swaddling him. Yes, those who are into the "it" parenting book of the moment, Happiest Baby on the Block, are thinking, "He's not even 3 months old yet, and you're going to stop swaddling him?" And the rest of you are thinking, "He's nearly 3 months old and you're STILL swaddling him?" (And those who don't have kids yet are thinking, "What's swaddling?") Well...he didn't enjoy it. After several attempts to calm him down and put him back in the crib, and listening to his screams turn into shreaks, I gave in and swaddled him in his precious Miracle Blanket that barely fits him anymore. He immediately went to sleep and slept for 6 hours. In consulting my Happiest Baby manual, I found out that our technique was way off by wanting to wean him off of swaddling cold turkey. But darn if he wasn't cute in those pjs. We'll be trying again...in "baby" steps over the next few weeks.
