Happy Thanksgiving! Where do I begin? Let's see...
Mark's parents visited last week and came just in time to witness Tyler with a double ear infection. Our normally sweet Tyler was a mess. But it was very helpful to have a couple extra sets of hands around since he had trouble eating and sleeping for five straight days. He had some trouble with the antibiotics he was given so it was blessed serendipity to have Mark's mom here (who happens to be a pharmacist).
In fact, we were so comfortable with Mark's parents here that Mark and I drove off for two days in Fredericksburg, a historic German community not far from where LBJ grew up. While I shopped and shopped and shopped, Mark visited with the, uh, locals.

We were summed back a few hours early when Tyler's fever spiked to 104 degrees. Here's what we found:
Danny was scheduled to have his tonsils and adenoids out (and ear tubes back in) the day after Mark's parents left. But I was so exhausted from Tyler's ordeal (along with my own sinus infection) that I postponed it. Sometimes you just have to raise the white flag. So we had no plans at all for Thanksgiving week, thinking we would be spending it nursing Danny back to health. What a gift it's been to have an entire week that is completely unscheduled!
