Isn't it refreshing that Mark's been doing all the posting lately? To be honest, I've gotten so much great freelance writing work that I've been too busy to do it. But in a couple weeks, I'll have to start slowing down and getting ready for the new little one.
Even though I don't have pictures to share today, I wanted to tell you about Danny's day yesterday. Our little boy is growing up -- in good ways and bad.
First off, we switched days this week with another mom, so Danny went to school yesterday instead of today. Didn't seem like anything he'd notice, but once he got to school and saw his teacher, he turned around and headed for the door saying to Mark, "No. Go. Mommy!" He was so confused!
Then he had his very first fist fight. He's been battling some physical aggression towards other kids for a while now, as most nearly-two-year-olds do. But it usually ends with one push and that's it. Well, yesterday at school, he and another boy from his class really "had it out." They shoved each other down and then both got back up and took a few more hits before the teachers could break them up. Sigh. I always imagined my little angel would be a lover, not a fighter.
And then at dinner time, the big shocker. Lately he's been pointing out when he has a soiled diaper, which is a great step towards potty training. At the table yesterday, he pointed towards his bottom and said what sounded like, "My a**!" Shocked for a moment, I said, "Your WHAT?" And he replied, "My butt. I pooped." Which leads me to believe that he did actually udder those first words. Where on Earth did he learn that? The kids at daycare have some explaining to do!
Life with Danny is getting very interesting indeed.
