Pointing and standing

It's been a crazy week. Danny came down with a high fever for several days. And, just before I brought him into the hospital for the dreaded UTI test, the fever dropped and he got a rash. So looks like he had roseola, which I read in my handy baby-care books infects nearly all kids worldwide by the time they're 2. Glad we got that over with!

But leave it to Danny to multi-task. While he was fighting the fever, he decided it was finally time to start pointing. AND HE CAN STAND ON HIS OWN NOW! He's still a bit wobbly and will only last a few seconds at a time, but each day he gets better and better. He's even tried to take a few steps on his own without holding on to anything. Mark and I have both been in tears this weekend watching him!

Oh, and here's Danny and his big belly at a birthday party for his 3-year-old friend Torrik. (Torrik had a "Bob the Builder" party with a cement mixer and everything!) The scale at the doctor's office revealed that Danny is now 23 pounds. So he jumped from being less than the 50th percentile at 9 months to nearly the 75th percentile at 11 months. We met a 14-month-old boy at church today that Danny could have squashed in a heartbeat. But, alas, it was church so no squashing allowed (Jesus was watching)!
