Happy Mother's Day! I know, I know. But I'm the designated picture-taker so I don't have any current pictures of me and Danny. Besides, I prefer to gawk at pictures of "my boys" anyway! To make the day sappy, here are some lyrics from one of my favorite Shawn Colvin songs (fellow Austinite, she had a hit song years ago called Sunny Came Home). It's a great song for moms who've ever had to answer the age-old toddler question "But why?" I can't wait...
I don't know why the sky is so blue.
I don't know why I'm so in love with you.
I know if there were no music, then I would not get through.
I don't know why I know these things, but I do.
I don't know why somewhere dreams come true.
And I don't know where but there will be a place for you.
Every time you look that way I would lay down my life for you.
I don't know why I know these things, but I do.
I don't know why some are going to make you cry.
I don't know how but I will get you by. I will try.
They're not trying to cause you pain,
They're just afraid of loving you.
I don't know why I know these things, but I do.
